I went for a run this afternoon while the husband took the kids to the pool for a swim. I love that time to myself (with my trusty companion, Rueben the dog) to reflect on the day or more importantly to just chill out. As I walked through the front gate on my return I noticed something on the front doorstep.......... I knew immediately what it was and was so excited. It was this beautiful birdhouse made by the lovely Tony who lives down the road. I have never met anyone that is able to recycle so much stuff, he throws out virtually nothing! We walk past his house on the way to school and the kids admire the 5 or so birdhouses in the trees in his front yard. He also has the most awesome letterbox. When we last saw him I told him how much the kids loved his creations and the rest is history..........thankyou Tony.
Its birthday party season for my new little preppie. The first one was yesterday and in the interests of saving money (because I have been splurging on a few things for myself lately........) and being creative I've been making their gifts. The first party was yesterday and lucky little Audrey recieved a BOB & MABEL skirt.
My little bandit had his first official swimming lesson this morning. It has been the talk of the house for weeks (together with school talk from the new prep) and the time finally arrived this morning. He waited patiently while his big girls had their lesson and it was then his turn. He loves the water and is very confident and took to the lesson like he's been doing it for years. The girls couldn't have been prouder with Blondie giving us a running commentary throughout the half hour lesson.
My little Miss Blondie started school today. She was beyond excited and has been counting down the days for weeks. She was brave and so was I, no tears at all! I am so happy to see her take this next step so confidently. When I asked her if she liked school she replied " I really liked it but I also really like being with you Mum"..............the perfect answer!
Hi. I'm Mandy and this is my little slice of life where I share my family life and my creative pursuits.
BOB & MABEL is the result of a creative itch that resurfaced after too many years ignored. After studying Fine Art and working as an Art/Photography/Welfare teacher I followed the path to motherhood. Since having No.3 I started playing with the growing mountains of vintage fabric and BOB & MABEL arrived!
